RC Cars History
Radio-controlled (RC) cars have been around since the early 20th century, with the first patent for a radio-controlled vehicle being filed in 1898. However, it wasn’t until the 1960s that RC cars became popular as a hobby.
The first commercially available RC cars were released in the mid-1960s and were powered by nickel-cadmium batteries. These early models were relatively large and expensive, and were primarily used by hobbyists and collectors.
In the 1970s, advances in technology led to the development of smaller and more affordable RC cars. These models were powered by small electric motors and were made from plastic rather than metal, making them lighter and more durable.
In the 1980s and 1990s, RC cars became even more popular, with a wide range of models available for all skill levels and budgets. Today, RC cars are used for both leisure and competition, with a variety of different types of RC cars available including touring cars, off-road vehicles, and even miniature versions of real-life racing cars.
